Summary of Chapter 1

Strategy 1
Never lose sight of the ultimate goal, and focus energy on short-term objectives.

In the begginig, two types of essential goals are explained, long- and short-term goals. Before trying to do something, people will set up the big goal. This is long-term goal that we wanted to acheive finally. Long-term goal might be too distant, uncertain and makes us exhausted. To make keep us focusing on the final goal, we need more easy goal to achieve, short-term goal.
Every short goal must be suited to our situation, but not be tiring. Doing similar jobs makes people tired and going blank. It will be fatal to the organization. By giving new tasks, people can keep our motivation and direct to the goal. It also include to be flexible to solve problem before it becomes worse.
Lastly, being confident is essential to acieve these. When people face something difficult, they are losing their confident. That kinds of people desire to follow someone confident who will give them solution or way. But it must be positive. Negative actions will lead the organization to the "bad" goal. Leader would be the person who will keep encouraging the members, giving them new tasks, with confidence. 

Week 1

What I have learned from first week is how to make people trust. Before we become a leader, we must be credible for the followers. Just "leading" tends to be self satisfication and looks bold.
As a first contact, people shakes hands in western culture. Our first lecture was "good hand-shake". Key elements for good hand-shake are warm, firm, brief. By doing this, we can give the good first impression. Second lecture is about posture. Showing strong and energish pose makes people looks strong. This is called "power pose". In the chemical aspect, power pose can control chemicals in our body.

Self Introduction of Hiromi Sasa

Hello, I am Hiromi Sasa. Everyone (actually, almost everyone) calls me "Sasa" my family name. I am from Inzai city, Chiba. Inzai is right next to Funabashi city. Funabashi city is famaous for its unauthorized character Funasshi, but I have never met him because he is too busy now. Inzai city is also near the Narita airport, so we can see airplains in the sky, from my house.
Though my house is in Chiba, I live in Ginkgo House now. Only one term is left for my dorm life. I hope that will be the greatest one in my dorm life.
Speaking of my major, it will be chemistry or education, but not determined. I am under the teacher certificate program, and I will be a science teacher in the future, it would be better to take chemistry major. But my future dream is working more internationally than just science teacher, so my will is to be education major. Honestly, I do not want to take Lab class anymore.
